Christmas

This Christmas turned out to be great. We were able to see family and enjoy our Christmas morning here together as well. We spent Christmas Eve per tradition at the Hansen house for dinner and our Nativity re-enactment. We got home and put kids to bed and got ready for Christmas morning. Ben woke up in the middle of the night and came into our room, I thought I would never get back to sleep because he kept telling me how excited he was that Santa would be coming. To our luck, he did go back to sleep a short time later.

Christmas morning Brigit woke up at her usual 6:00 hour and from there her brothers woke up as well. We then all went in to find out what we had gotten. Brigit got the Little People Busy Day Home, which she loved at first sight/touch. Ben and Charlie got an Imaginext Gorrilla Jungle and love playing with it with all the animals and sounds that it involves. The other really big thing we got was a wii. We also got Mario Cart to go with it. I won't say too much on that except that we have played it more than we (parents) should have. The boys love the boxing and I've got some pictures of them doing that as well.

After we hung around here for most of the day, we headed up to have a dinner with the Johnson family. It was a lot of fun to be with them and glad that Matt and Brooke decided to come here to spend Christmas with us. We got to see Leah for the first time and I got to hold her a little (I'm not sure if it was enough though :)). We played a game called Celestial Companions, it's like the Newly-Wed game, but with religious references. It was a lot of fun to see all the 4 couples together and sharing with one another.

The next morning we saw Mike's grandparents and visited with them for a little bit. Then later that night we went to a Dredge family party and had a lot of fun with them. While there my cousin announced that she will be having a baby and we are so excited for them.

The following morning we got up and came home. It was nice to spend the time with family, but it was nice to come home and really see/play with our Christmas presents.

Here are some pictures of the events for your enjoyment....

It looks like and sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. It's so nice to be near family for the holidays, something we've missed out on these last 3 years, but no more! We had fun with your family the day of Christmas when we all went sledding and your dad brought some delicious doughnuts thanks to your mom's excellent skills. You Hansen's are an awesome family!

Ain't no need to watch where I'm going, just need to know where I've been.
