Haircut Trauma!

So, I have needed a haircut for a very long time, but for one reason or another, I kept putting it off. My big plan was to get it cut before Jacob came along, but since it didn't happen then it was going to have to wait a little bit.

Well, last Friday I decided that I would go as soon as Mike got home from work. So I did and I ran a few errands that I had while I was out and then came home. Well, after I got home and started playing with it (my hair) I realized that it was uneven in places. In the front it was longer on the left and in the back it was longer on the right. Anyway, I decided that I couldn't live with it. It was just going to drive me crazy. I decided to go back and the best time for me to do that was Thursday. So, I head back and another girl (the original wasn't there)if going to fix it for me. As we get going along, we find a whole in one section of hair. I decided to just cut it off and let's just get it even.

I went from getting a decent chop to a real chop off!! Luckily for me Mike likes how it turned out. He actually expected me to have it this short to begin with. I'm glad I didn't though, or I might not have ANY hair left.

I'll have to get pictures up later...

You're a MOM!!

Picture Charlie and I sitting together on the couch talking. I decided it was time to test his gender knowledge (at what age does/should that happen?) and see where he is. As I go through our family I ask him if mom is a boy or a girl. He tells me that I'm mom. I said, "No, a boy or a girl?" He says in his very stubborn way, "I said you're MOM."

I sure had a good laugh as I realized that I guess I (as a MOM) don't have a gender to this child. Mom is a gender.

Kids are so cute!!

Confused?

I just love this picture. I think Brigit might be a little stripped confused. What do you think?

One Month Old Pics

Here are one month pictures of the four kids. Not in the right order. I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit. Can you guess who is in which picture? Jacob has been harder for me to figure out where he gets his good looks. I thought that having pictures from about the same time period of each of them would help. What do you think? Who looks alike, who looks different? Should I tell you the answers? I'll think about it.

Happy Birthday Becky

I know that many of you know what an amazing woman I married but I want to take a moment and let her know how lucky I feel to have her as my wife. She has surpassed all of my expectations as both a mother and as my wife. She is dedicated to our family and adds so much to our home life. I am so grateful that she was born 30 years ago. These past seven years have been the best of my life, and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with her.

I DID IT!!

Wow. I think I'm crazy...wait, I KNOW I'm crazy. What was my first clue you ask? Well, I'm not sure, but I did decide to go to Target with 4 kids under the age of 5. (The kids were my very own) Maybe just having 4 kids under 5 is the crazy part and I just decided to make it even crazier. I'm not sure.

I found out Monday morning that I needed to get a new plastic sheet for Ben's bed. (We are still having wet nights.) I also realized that I needed to get it before he went to bed. That is were my desire to go to the store came. So, I did it. After lunch I decided it was time to just do it. We made it and the kids really did do a good job. Ben was a big boy and ended up going potty by himself. That was one of the hardest moments and the poor kid is going to have to grow up really fast here.

We had made it through and were to the point of leaving that things didn't go so well. The boys decided to go out the in doors as I was trying to get them to come over to get their coats on before going outside. To make a long story short...they didn't listen so they weren't happy as we headed for the car to come home.

What an adventure it was, but in the end it was good to know that I can do it if I need to. (I don't think there will be too many times that I'm in that situation though.) I do have to load them all in the car two times a week to take Ben to school, but I don't have to get them all out and do anything else. I guess that's what makes it possible. We'll see how this all goes as they all get a little older too.

Our New Life

Wow!! We now are a family of six. Isn't that crazy. It's hard to believe that we have made it to this point in our lives, but here we are. We have been having a good time having Jacob home. The kids are enjoying him as well. Ben is very good to help and loves to talk to him as he gets his diaper changed (Jacob hates diaper changes). He also loves to hold him and he's very cute about it. Charlie likes him, but isn't obsessed. He will hold him and has started picking up on Ben's lead with talking to him when he starts crying. Brigit is really funny. She LOVES Jacob...sometimes a little too much. :) She loves to be around him and can get a little smothering, but it's fun to watch as well.

Jacob seems to be adapting pretty well over all. We have had to get used to some sleepless nights, but he does seem to be getting better. He isn't that great of an eater. I'm hoping that will change, but we'll see what happens. He is so skinny and long, I guess I'm just hoping he gets more proportionate sooner rather than later. He has chicken legs. Here's a picture of them so you'll believe me. He's in a size 1 diaper (we ran out of newborn and now that his cord is gone...).

Here are some pictures of the kids as well as some others of just Jacob.

Ain't no need to watch where I'm going, just need to know where I've been.
