Informal Study

I've been thinking and I've been wondering if there is a connection between the cleanliness of your house and the type of shoes you wear. There probably is no connection at all, but I thought I would ask and see if there might be.

So, I'm going to set up a poll to see if there's a correlation. I don't think there are many that actually read this blog, but it'll be fun anyway. :)

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is always an interesting day around here. We're not too big in the gift giving and HUGE celebrating that I know others do. I usually make cards for the kids and we always have heart shaped sugar cookies. Other than that it's just been whatever. We do also have heart shaped pizza for dinner. I figure everyone will eat it and so it's worth it. I can think of a bunch of other things that would be more special, but I can't say the kids would all eat it.

So, this year I decided that rather than making cards for the kids I made bigger heart shaped cookies for each of them as well as for Mike. They were fun to make and I think everyone enjoyed getting a cookie with their name on it. :) Here are pictures of the kids with them:

This year we also sent out Valentine's to all the family members. While the boys were working on theirs for school, Brigit and I worked on some for the family. Here is the Valentine that I added:

Mental Note

So maybe there are a couple of them... This is for me to remember and maybe help someone else not make the same mistake.

So, yesterday afternoon I decided that I needed to get some shredding done and the kids enjoy helping. So, we got a bunch shredded and I bagged all the little papers after we were done. I still had more shredding to do, but we needed to wait for the shredder to cool down before we could do more. We never made it back to finishing yesterday. This morning the kids were playing around and having a good time. The next thing I know one of them has picked up the bag of shredded papers and has been dumping it throughout the main areas.





Also, last night I had folded clothes and not all of them got put away before the shredded paper got dispersed.

We did get it all cleaned up, well mostly. I'm sure we'll be finding little papers around in the couch and corners for awhile.

Chore Chart News

I decided that I need to update how things have been going since I got the chore charts out. I'll be completely honest....not so well. I've decided that I'm really not good at implementing it and keeping up on checking to make sure they are done. Those of you that have charts and have it work.... How do you make sure they get done? What's your schedule like with it?

I also decided that I had too high of expectations for them to get all checks filled everyday. I can't even do that myself...I better give them some slack as well.

We are trying to do something where if you get so many checks you get to pick a special activity with just mom or dad. Last week went better than this week is going. I've got a cold this week, so maybe that's why? :) I'm sure I'm just trying to make myself feel better. It seems to be working, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Speaking of colds....I really don't like them, especially when they seem to wipe me out. If the kids just watch movies and nothing else happens, it's ok, right? We'll see how lunch and dinner go today.

Anyway, that's a quick little update for now. I don't think I can think very well right now. I'll have to post again soon. I'm going to be a better blogger!
