Big Bed Time??

I know that may sound crazy to some (even me), but we had to get Brigit out of the crib and into a bed and adjusted before this little one comes.

So, we have been looking around for a mattress and have it up, so she can get comfortable with it before moving into it this weekend. Well, last night we got the mattress and we put it all together with her new bed set that she got for Christmas. After we got it all set up we decided to just try her in it. She ended up in bed all night long asleep. She did so good!! We'll see how naps go today. (So far, not so great...) She may end up napping in her crib for a little bit still, we'll see how that goes though.

Here are some pictures of her bed and of her asleep last night in it. Hope you all enjoy.

Be Prepared

I have been thinking a lot lately about having food storage and being prepared for whatever may happen. For some reason, I am having a feeling that it's time to really get ready (at least more ready than we are now). I think at least part of the reason is because of our next Relief Society activity is about 72 hr kits. I've also been hearing things about the bird flu and things of that nature. Well, whatever the reason, it'll probably be a good thing that I can get done even if I don't have to use it.

I'm wondering how prepared I actually I am and how much more I need to do to prepare. I've decided that the hard thing for me right now, is that I really don't know how much actual food we eat in 3 months to start getting a stock pile now....

Here are some different things I have found if anyone else is feeling this need as well. Some is quite interesting if you ask me....

I found a site earlier, but of course I can't find it now. It had some great information and I really liked the layout as well. If I find it again, I'll post it.

Our Crazy Weekend!!

We had a wonderfully crazy weekend that I thought I would share with all of you. Mike and I had planned to go out of town to San Francisco leaving Friday and coming home Sat. night.

Well, as things would go, the flights were all full, so it wasn't going to happen. There was a flight to Las Angeles and we decided that we might as well try that one. We did and we got on right before take-off. We arrived at the airport and luckly found a little kiosk to rent a hotel room. We got to our room and enjoyed a nice night with no kids and were able to wake up when we wanted!! We decided that we would head down to the beach and see what we could do there.

We ended up at Redondo Beach and ate at a mexican restaurant there on the boardwalk. It is more of a shipping harbor with a nice pier. We were able to look around in the shops there and we saw a fresh seafood store. It was fun to look around and be together. It was about 78 degrees there and we wished we were wearing our shorts and flip-flops.

We then headed back to the airport to catch the flight, but it didn't work out so we ended up staying in another hotel for the night and heading out early Sunday morning. We got on that flight fine and got home at about 12:00.

It was fun to get away....it really won't happen for a very long time. Being 7 months preg. probably wasn't the best time to go, but it was fun anyway. Thank you Diane for helping make that all possible!!

Here are some pics of the trip....

Current Name Thoughts

I'm sure you are all surpised to know that we haven't narrowed our list down too much, but we have been working on it. To prove to you all that we have been thinking I thought I would let you in on a our most recent thought.

We have been thinking that maybe we should choose a name that Brigit can say. Well, thinking of what she says her main word (if you can call it that) is GRRRR. I think she must have two older brothers. :) So, we have decided that it would make a great nickname for this new little one. I think we have defintely decided against using it as the full name, so a nickname would work. Now to come up with a name that would work with that nickname..... And no, I don't think wolverine would be a good name either....

I think naming a child is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. I wonder why it's so hard, but for me it is. This one has been my hardest by far. I'm not sure what will happen, but I can guarentee you all that by the time we are out of the hospital it will have been decided. :)

Interesting thoughts

Tonight I had book club. It's once a month and Mike is great about letting me go. We were at one of the ladies homes and after discussing the book she showed us something new that she had gotten. She had gotten a baby grand piano that was just beautiful. She is a great pianist and so we asked her to play for us. She started playing and while she was playing I was missing my grandma. I don't even know what she was playing, but it was beautiful and just reminded me of my grandma. I guess it's interesting when you have these moments when it just seems like yesterday that they were here with us. I love the fact that she taught me to appreciate good music. It was a fun moment to reconnect to those old ties. It's hard to believe that it'll be 5 yrs in May that she's been gone, but it's nice to have those times when you can re-connect to those times. I am so greatful for music and the abilities of others. Through their abilities, I am able to appreciate it so much more. Grandma helped me to appreciate good music and I love it when people really know how to play and it's fun to remember her and how well she played.

Happy Birthday Charlie!!

Wow, he is 3 now. I can hardly belive it. After we got back from celebrating Christmas we got ready for his birthday. We ended up ordering pizza for dinner and watching a movie that he had gotten. He enjoyed the time and is figuring out that he's 3 and not 2 anymore. Here are a few pictures of the festivities....

Christmas

This Christmas turned out to be great. We were able to see family and enjoy our Christmas morning here together as well. We spent Christmas Eve per tradition at the Hansen house for dinner and our Nativity re-enactment. We got home and put kids to bed and got ready for Christmas morning. Ben woke up in the middle of the night and came into our room, I thought I would never get back to sleep because he kept telling me how excited he was that Santa would be coming. To our luck, he did go back to sleep a short time later.

Christmas morning Brigit woke up at her usual 6:00 hour and from there her brothers woke up as well. We then all went in to find out what we had gotten. Brigit got the Little People Busy Day Home, which she loved at first sight/touch. Ben and Charlie got an Imaginext Gorrilla Jungle and love playing with it with all the animals and sounds that it involves. The other really big thing we got was a wii. We also got Mario Cart to go with it. I won't say too much on that except that we have played it more than we (parents) should have. The boys love the boxing and I've got some pictures of them doing that as well.

After we hung around here for most of the day, we headed up to have a dinner with the Johnson family. It was a lot of fun to be with them and glad that Matt and Brooke decided to come here to spend Christmas with us. We got to see Leah for the first time and I got to hold her a little (I'm not sure if it was enough though :)). We played a game called Celestial Companions, it's like the Newly-Wed game, but with religious references. It was a lot of fun to see all the 4 couples together and sharing with one another.

The next morning we saw Mike's grandparents and visited with them for a little bit. Then later that night we went to a Dredge family party and had a lot of fun with them. While there my cousin announced that she will be having a baby and we are so excited for them.

The following morning we got up and came home. It was nice to spend the time with family, but it was nice to come home and really see/play with our Christmas presents.

Here are some pictures of the events for your enjoyment....

Busy Time

I have realized that I really haven't done much with our blog for awhile. I've decided it's because we have been busy and I have slacked. So between both of those things, here is a massive update!!
Ain't no need to watch where I'm going, just need to know where I've been.
